Capitol Hill Needlework Group Report

Eight of us met at Stitch D.C. on Sunday afternoon despite the frigid temperatures outside. I worked on my Olympic mittens. Emily from the hats for the Children's Advocacy Center joined us to talk about her project. Yet another reporter stopped by to ask questions for a story on knitting in D.C. We all worked on our projects and discussed local and global politics.

A New Spring Fiber Festival

I received this message from Sheila, and I am passing it along:

I wanted to contact you about a new fiber festival that I am co-organizing.

It will be on April 8th in Bedford County, VA from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We have a full schedule of classes lined up: a great barbeque vendor, Celtic music all day, a fashion show, silent auction, shearing demonstrations, and animal exhibits.

My partner owns an alpaca farm and through her contacts most of our animal exhibits are alpacas and llamas. There will also be two alpaca / llama performance shows . . . and 40 vendors! So, please help us spread the news. Some of your members may be interested in making the beautiful drive to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
